Pages, numbers & notes plus all get my vote.

For typing, word docs etc Pages does most all you need it to.

For spreadsheets, numbers does the trick, while it doesn't do everything Excel does, it does most things very well

Notes plus for handwritten notes is ace!

I am a noteaholic and I have: Springpad, Cloud Word (simple and love it),iNotes, abcNotes, NoteShelf,Manager,OrganizeHD,Objectives+,SimpleMind+ (not really a note taker but well worth looking at),A-List,TaskPad-HD,Crosscheck, GoTasks,Nebulous, Sling Note Lite, Next!, Memo, Sundry Notes and a little useful app to leave notes on a map etc. is PopNotes. and Catch Notes. So you can see why I'm a notealholic but my favorite right now is iDesktop Note for my iPhone and all of the above for my iPad lol :D... Some you have to pay for and some are free, since I have so many I don't recall which is which. Have a great day!

There's "free" and then there's "free".

I definitely say Evernote which is free to download and install. But as I use it so much on my iPad, netbook, and computer I do pay the fee to be a 'premium' user. So is that really "free"?
