Have to laugh. Daughter couldn't understand why I have an iPad but has discovered my books on the iBooks and kindle apps. Sigh. I'm on my iPhone 4 again. Such a small screen.

Not sure if your in the UK beccbabe, but if you are, you've given plenty of notice. The only reason they can say no is if more than one person is off in the same area.
If you feel your not being treated fairly, you could try the citizens advice.
