Team leader's app to help track work

Just wondering whether anyone could suggest an app that would help a team leader to keep track of what tasks team members are working on. Could just resort to a spreadsheet, but having a user friendly GUI would be preferred.

Have a look at 'SG Project Pro'. It's a very comprehensive project planning app and can read MS Project format files too. They have a great User Manual that you can download for free, so you can check out its capabilities.

Thanks for the suggestion, Tim, but it looks a little too heavy. Just reuire something to keep track of incoming work, work that's been allocated, work that's been completed, track against target deadlines, add notes on performance, etc. The work may be across several projects and the team works more as a resource pool rather than specifically assigned from one project to another.

Perhaps a customisable database with user definable views of the data?
 
Bento, maybe.

They just upgraded it to include a simple list feature that will let you add a small spreadsheet like table to each record. If you have a Mac so you can run it on both a computer and iPad, I'd say definitely. But as an iPad only app, it is less flexible. Works well for data look up and entry on small flat databases, but for excellent lookup, export, and sorting you need the OS X version. They do sync.
 
I'd noticed Bento before, but the reviews are somewhat off-putting. Searching the app store for 'delegate' brought back some possibilities and Little Red Rocket have some nice apps, but they require team members to also be running the software. The search continues...
