I have an Ipad air and also two computers with respectively Windows 7 Professional and Windows Vista Home Premium. I have two E-mail accounts @hotmail.com (opened through Outlook) and @btinternet.com (opened through Windows Mail). I can access both on my Ipad but whereas where hotmail messages are dealt with on the Ipad (marked unread, deleted, sent, etc.) this is transferred to the PC and vice versa this is not the case with Windows Mail and btinternet. This is driving my wife and myself up the wall and making use of the Ipad impractible. Please can anyone help.

To me, it sounds as if you have your BT mail account set up as a POP account. So, when you access your e-mail on your iPad, your internet provider's (ISP) server doesn't get updated.

My suggestion is to delete the account from your iPad (in Settings under "Mail, Contacts, Calendars") and try re-loading the account as an SMTP or IMAP set-up. Here's a link I found from your provider, BT, on how to do this (note they highly recommend SMTP):

http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/...tings-for-outgoing-and-incoming-mail-servers?

Hopefully, that'll get it sorted. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Welcome to our forums.
I understand your problem however it is not the iPad that is the problem but the type of mail set up. I assume you are using pop servers with your providers and there lies the issue. I will let our team of experts answer your problem however using an exchange server or IMAP will fix the issue. I personally forward all emails to gmail and then sync 5 devices without issues. I do not like hotmail as it is to unstable and in addition open to spam attacks. Again welcome and please wait for a response from one of out team members

I do the same thing as the colonel: automatically forward all my email accounts to Gmail, where I can access them via IMAP on all my devices. Gmail has excellent spam filtering and lots of flexibility. POP was adequate when we only had one computer apiece, but it's sorely outdated today.
