AppleInsider reports today that what is said to be a back panel from an iPad 3 has been obtained by Fix-iPhones.com’s repair labs. When comparing the back panel with an iPad 2 back panel, Fix-iPhones.com found that there were four main differences between the two. Firstly, the new back panel has different mounts for its logic board, which would seem to indicate that the iPad 3’s logic board will be a different shape to the previous version. Secondly, it seems as though more room has been created in order to fit a larger battery. Thirdly, the new back panel also seems to indicate that the next iPad’s camera will be somehow different, although they haven’t exactly said how different! That part seems to be a bit vague. Lastly, Fix-iPhones.com says that based on the different mountings used in the new back panel, the iPad 3’s LCD display will be different from that of the iPad 2. No proof of course that this is a genuine iPad 3 back panel, but a larger battery has been a strong rumour for quite some time, so maybe that’s a clue to the authenticity of the part. [/FONT]
