Hi,
I am very new to the workings of an iPad. Wanted to chk if iPad also has a "history" that is do the pages visited by one , get stored in d memory like the computer which one needs to delete periodically ?

Thanks

Yes, if you go to settings and look under Safari you will see options to delete history, cookies and cache.

If you want to prevent Safari caching data you can turn on Private Browsing in Settings/Safari. In private mode no history will be kept, and cookies will become session cookies. That is to say, they will be lost when you close Safari.

If trying to cover tracks, beware that Safari private browsing isn't reliable. People have complained on various existing threads, like this one: http://www.ipadforums.net/ipad-os/52118-private-browsing-not-so-private.html

There are various other options, but here's one possibility:

My Secret Folder is an app that allows passcode protection and doesn't save browsing history. If you have an iPad 2 or 3, you can even set it up so it takes a photo of anyone who tries to access the folder with the wrong passcode.
