Snycing data between apps

I recently installed the "Password" to my iphone 4s. Last night, i synced it to my Ipad2. However, the information I entered on the phone didn't transfer to the Ipad app. Why?? I thought the reason to sync was to have the infoarmtion entered follow me to all of my hardware.

Help, I am new to Mac, and want to get a warm fuzzy. I may be making a new laptop purchase and am now looking at Macs.
