Skype on iPad

There is no official announcement of a Skype iPad app. The users on the official Skype forum are just as clueless as we are, why Skype doesn't develop on iPad app.

Hopefully one will be released soon since iPad 2 is out and people will want to use it for video calling

Huh, that means that I've been using the iPhone version on my iPad2 for the last month while traveling overseas. Didn't even realize that. I can tell you it worked pretty well. Video was a tad spotty but that was because of the low bandwidth where I was. No problems whatsoever with voice.

Ha, that's cool. I'll have to stick to the iPhone version for now then. It's just a bit fuzzy when you increase its size!

Funny, the first time I video-called someone with Skype on iPad 2, she said the picture was very clear. It looked grainy on my end, but I'm not that demanding about seeing people whom I call, especially when it's free.

If you are jailbroken, use the ipod skype official app and install "fullforce" from cydia, which will, almost perfectly convert it into an ipad formatted app (not stretched as the ipad usually allows)

But that doesn't really help, does it?

The iPad 1 has no camera, so you might as well use imo for the Skype voice calling.

It is a work-around, but sadly not for iPad 2, where it would make more sense.

Another cydia app, BTStack will allow you to connect to you iphone camera and use it during the call. Obv useless but a solution none the less
