Side switch set to Mute but not muting videos?

I know this is odd, but then I'm just wondering if anyone else is having this situation. When you are streaming video but then you have a phone call and use your side switch to attempt to put your iPad on mute, but then it doesn't....is this normal?

I'm just wondering as my side switch is set to put it on mute incase of situations like that. The 'no sound' logo does appear, but the sound is still playing for video. Just wondering if it is bc of a JB as well...

Apple redefined the word "mute" for ya.

Consider it "iMute"
I changed the side button to orientation lock, which is more useful to me.

Yeah I read on other forums to see if other people were having this same problem and I found out it was for just the notifications for apps and what not. Kind of ridiculous.
