Screen lock

I have been using my screen lock on the side of my ipad since Christmas with no problems till today. It now turns off the sound and not lock the screen, any idea's? I did upgrade the software verion from Apple today and wonder if that has screwed things up. Help please:confused:

Yes. That is indeed an intentional feature of the latest update of the iOS.

The opinion on whether it 'messed things up', varies from person to person.
BUT, Apple meant for that to happen in the update.

Double click your home button.

This brings up a bar of icons at the bottom of the screen.
This displays Apps that are sitting in memory. (pseudo-multitasking).

Slide that bar to the right...
That uncovers an orientation lock button-icon,
And some other icon-buttons.

Edit: The home button is the only button on your screen.

Doublclick your home button. When the multi-tasking bar appears, swipe right and the screen lock button will come into view.

Hang in there. There is a good chance the new upgrade to iOS (4.3 - currently in beta testing) will allow you to default back to the physical switch.

Meanwhile ... swipe away!
