Tonight is the Worldcon Masquerade. People have been lined up for over an hour already. The Masquerade starts in just over 45 minutes from now. image-3119481168.jpg image-4003043366.jpg image-1600578059.jpg

They certainly put a lot of time and effort in their costumes. Are there winners among the ones you posted?

Great photos Robert. I like that Dalek one;) you are obviously enjoying the expo.
Andrew

In last night's episode of 4 Rooms (Channel 4) a seller was looking for £15k for an original Dalek. IMO he was being greedy. The dealers agreed with me. :)
Needless to say it wasn't sold.

Here are some photos of the last day of the convention. Included are photos of the dealers room, exhibit hall and closing ceremonies. image-4144130345.jpg image-1896980367.jpg image-2524304885.jpg image-3478626859.jpg image-116257077.jpg image-3938371815.jpg image-1307794693.jpg image-1427120677.jpg image-648159643.jpg image-3163531440.jpg image-3164374057.jpg image-916004383.jpg image-3912145980.jpg image-1224890050.jpg image-2533678818.jpg image-711774033.jpg image-2276707662.jpg image-3635671428.jpg image-3902147263.jpg image-3337191183.jpg

Thanks, Andrew. The convention was a lot of fun for 5 days and now it's over for another year. :(
Next year the convention is in London, England and will be called Loncon3.

Near the Ionian Nebula, still searching for Earth
Planet Earth and its inhabitants are poorer tonight.

For my money, one of Ms. Crispin's remarkable accomplishments, was adapting the last screenplay in the A L I E N movie franchise 'Resurrection' for novelization.
Stories 1 thru 3 were adapted by Alan Dean Foster. They have very different writing styles and the A L I E N story arc was horribly muddied by the 3rd movie because of
endless studio re-writes. 'Resurrection', the fourth film, was a Joss Whedon script and as much as I like his work he didn't do the screenplay justice. But Ann Crispin made up for everything with her story treatment in the novelization.

I was lucky to have met her and Fred Pohl at previous conventions. Thanks for letting us know, Admiral.
