[FONT=&amp]As sure as night follows day, tales of shortages and supply constraints follow the launch of a new iPad or iPhone, and the forthcoming launch on March 7 of Apple’s next iPad is no exception. According to a news story on DigiTimes, as reported on by AppleInsider, initial supplies of Apple’s next iPad will be affected by an “insufficient supply of high resolution displaysâ€. The Retina Displays for the next iPad are believed to being supplied by Sharp, LG Display and Samsung Electronics, but DigiTimes says that its sources have said that the entire supply chain responsible for the Retina Displays has failed to supply enough of the screens for launch. Because of this, the report says, the current iPad, the iPad 2, will be the main iPad as far as shipments are concerned for most of the first quarter, until iPad 3 shipments start to gain momentum during the second quarter.
