question about the ipad2 update

can someone tell me how can i know when there is a update to my ipad2, and when i will be able to use icloud and not have to sync it to my pc to get the update, thanks

Typically, iTunes will tell you of an update when you plug in to your computer to sync. You can also find out about updates from the Apple site, or any various news feeds (or here, by watching the threads). The next update is to be iOS 5, I think it's going to be ready in September, it will have the ability to sync via The iCloud.
