I purchased by iPad on Monday: 16 gig wifi.

I am a litigation attorney in Pittsburgh and hope to integrate the iPad into my practice in my effort to streamline my note taking and move toward being more paperless.

Any suggestions on productivity apps are greatly appreciated.

Welcome! Just wondering your non-specialist-but-smarter-in-these-things opinion on the class action suit against AT&T for the "unlimited data" plan that was a major selling feature, heavily advertised that you can't get any more?

Welcome to the site :)

There are the iworks app Which is, Pages,Numbers,Keynote

I only use Pages which is a good app specially for what you would use it for. Other 2 programs I don't need.

Let us know what you think

Welcome. If you want to take handwritten notes, I suggest Note Taker HD. Finding this was the clincher for me in deciding to purchase my iPad, because I wanted something I could use to take notes during meetings.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Please keep them coming. I am not sure if I will install Pages or another word processor because I want the ability to access and edit documents in the cloud.

Note taker HD looks nice. I will have to consider it. For now, i have kept my iPod touch to use when the iPad is not accessible. I have stuck with the native note app because i am able to sync through outlook. I am also considering evernote.

I have Evernote, and have used it previously. However, I have not really used it, I have been using Dropbox instead, and have been very pleased with it. I have some PDF documents that are close to 200 pages that I have transferred with Dropbox.

Quickoffice connect mobile suite for iPad: Think Microsoft Office and it syncs with google doc within the app and via itunes. You can create documents and sync them with the google docs cloud then you can access them and edit them anywhere. You can also store documents on iPad.

I find this very App useful. I can work on the iPad then access that work on the laptop then access it at work on my PC on the internet and use it there. I use it a lot. You can import pictures and drawings into the files. Read the description in the App Store.

Hope this helps

Thanks again, I installed quickoffice. I was very pleased until I learned that the updated google docs do not load. This is really annoying and requires a small work around that is not retroactively applicable. Also, i am having trouble figuring out how to create numbered lists. Hopefully the google issue is resolved soon.
