Problem with playing card symbols in pdf

Hi, Advice needed please. I transferred a pdf document containing playing card symbols to my ipad - to both Evernote and GoodReader. The symbols don't show up in either app, which suggests to me that some fonts are missing from the ipad. The doc reads fine in my mac pro.

All ideas welcome, Thanks
