How do you create a new photo album on the iPad 2?

If you have an older version of the operating system, then you can't do this directly. You have to create the albums on your PC/Mac and then synchronise the iPad using iTunes. The albums you created will transfer and will show in the Photo app.

There are several third party apps - some free - that will enable you to do this directly but the albums are created in that app and not in the Photos app.
