iPlay’s gorgeous Match-3 puzzle game Puzzle Quest is heading for the iPad, the developer announced today. Combining the HD graphics of the PC version and the intuitive touch controls of the iPhone version, the game represents an interesting twist on the usual Match-3 gameplay, with each match you make moving you across the puzzle board, as you explore the map to find special items and complete your mission across dozens of levels.
Another aspect of Paradise Quest HD that sets it aside from the run-of-the-mill Match-3 games is the fact that it’s set in gorgeous tropical environments. The storyline sees you taking on the role of Dr Evan Finch, a renowned ecologist who sets out to restore the majestic island of Isabela to its former beauty. Along the way, you collect natural resources to revive lush vegetation, restore the animal kingdom, and uncover the ancient artefacts of a lost Galapagos civilisation.
Multiplayer mode enables you to challenge your friends by playing iPad vs iPad or iPad vs iPhone/iPod touch. The HD version of the game also includes the unlockable Paradise Nights Extra levels Pack containing 20 new levels.
Unfortunately the game doesn’t have a release date as yet for the iPad version, but hopefully it’s not too far off.
