Pages and Numbers issues

Pages and Numbers work fine on the iPad but then I try to import into the PC as Word and Excel docs (from iCloud.com) they crash or show no data when I try to open them. I am not using MS product but rather Open Office so I wonder if this is a OO issue or others with MS Word have the same issue.

Occasionally the Pages will import to OO but not often.

Hey dummy I say to myself "do you have the latest version of Open Office?" DUH no and when I updated to the current 4.1.0 my problem appears to have disappeared.

A better free office suite is Kingsoft Office. I used to use OpenOffice myself. Kingsoft is patterned after MS Office 2007 - looks and has most of the features for it as well. Saves in MS file formats and opens MS Office files as well. I'm not allowed to post links yet, but you can do a Google search for it.

Agree. See my post about it at top (now). Its called WPS Office now and there is an IOS app plus the PC app. I was looking for a free PC alternative to Office Suite for a friend and discovered it--I use Office HD/Quick Edit with Office on my PC but having tried this this morning would definitely recommend it.

I downloaded Kingsoft and as I said upgraded OO. Both work but seem to lose the BOLD formatting when importing the document. Good but not perfect. But what the heck it is free and i love working in my easy chair and not at this uncomfortable PC set up! So I'll live with it.

Libreoffice is another free office alternative. Used it a few times at one of our software vendors and seemed to work very well.

Sent from my iPhone 5S using iPF

It works pretty well now but bold does not seem to show up on doc documents always. Pretty handy to sit in easy chair and dictate documents!
