Opening pdf files from email.

I folks I have a problem.
When I get an email with a PDF file, they won't open, all I get is a spinning wheel for hours.
Also if I hold on the file and select open in iBooks, nothing happens at all.
I used a gmail account and was using photo mag, and emailed a PDF magazine.
BUT when I logged into gmail using safari browser the files opened, and I loaded them into iBooks ok.

What is wrong with the email client on the iPad2

Mail should have worked. If you have not done so, try the usual fixes.

When you have problems with an app it's a good idea to clear it from RAM.

Close/Clear the app: With the problem app closed, double tap on the Home button to get the multitask bar. Tap and hold on any icon in the bar until they jiggle, then tap the minus sign on the problem app. This will remove it from RAM and insure a clean start the next time you launch the app.

If that does not work try a restart,

Restart: Hold down the power button until the power off slider appears. Slide it off. When the iPad finishes shutting down, hold down the power button again until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends you restart the iPad at least once a month.

and then a reset if that does not work.

Reset: Hold down the power and home buttons until the Apple logo appears. The iPad will reboot. This usually takes a bit longer than a restart.

Hi,
Thanks for the advice, I tried all that but to no avail.
It seems the fault is with the PDF file that was generated with photomag app, and not a fault with the email client, as I can email myself all sorts of PDF files and that all
Work ok
I have emailed the app designer who confirmed it won't open on iPad unless you use Safari browser so the balls in her court.

Thanks anyway
