Noobie here....with mail problems

New to this forum, been using ipad2 since the day ipad 3 came out...love it. Recently started getting errors that mail credentials are wrong...."Cannot get mail" ..tried re-entering them, tried changing them at server..(webmail works fine), tried rebooting, tried ignoring it...POP mail will not come in...getting very frustrated....Help?
