No sound when I receive message.

Since updating my ipad air when I receive a message on imessage the "beep" has stopped, Facetime is still ok. It's just a pain to keep looking to see if I have a message.

Sorry to be the one to ask the obvious question, but did you check the iMessage settings in the Sounds category of your Settings app?

Sometimes, you may have to reset it... dunno why.

Yes I did check and I even changed to another sound but to no avail.

Just throwing out the obvious here: did you check to make sure the sound was on under the Notification section?

This is all I can think as I'm running out of ideas...

Two other possibilities.

1) You have the iPad muted. Depending on your settings in Settings > General > Set Side Switch To: the control will either be the switch next to you volume buttons or a bell icon in the Control Center.

2) You have Do Not Disturb turned on in Settings > Do Not Disturb.
