iMessage Activation

I have reset my Apple ID password,but when I use it to sign into IMessage I am unable, I get a message that I need to check my wireless network?
However I can get into iTunes using my same Apple ID and password.
How can I activate iMessages and the same applies to FaceTime.

Make sure your software on the iPad is up to date. iOS 8.0.2 is the latest.

Access a random website using Safari. This will show you whether or not your Wi-Fi connection is working.

Check your settings in General - Date & Time. Make sure the right time zone is chosen.
