New to Apple

Hi I'm completely new to apple my partner got us an IMac last Christmas but I have never really used it, so this year he got me an IPad 2. Brilliant I love it but I'm a complete novice. Seem to be having a problem with ringtones etc. Been using the Skype app but when anyone rings me I only get a notification no sound alert, I've set tones but nothing seems to happen. Help!

Do you have your volume high enough to hear or maybe set on mute?

Regarding your question, have you gone to notifications in settings and set your alerts and have you gone to Skype in settings too, scroll down and you'll see Skype and turn sounds and alerts on here under notifications.

Darn that didn't help? I was hoping between mine and leelai's response we could have helped you out. Well hang tight, perhaps other members will see this and help. Your title is hard, since it's and intro with a question.

Have you tried to use the search option to see if others have this same problem?
