Had my iPad (4th gen 32 Gig) for two weeks and having lots of fun with it. It looks like it will be wonderful for one specific task I intend to put it to. And reading iBooks is more satisfactory than I ever expected.

I've used iTunes with an iPod for years and have built up quite a library of music, podcasts and a few audio books. It transferred to the iPad just fine. However, when I signed up for iCloud on iTunes, my whole library disappeared. By the time I noticed it a few days later the only thing in my iTunes library were two apps and one book I had bought since activating iCloud. The rest was gone. I looked everywhere on my desktop computer and could not find a recent library. One dated 1/1/2013, yes, but nothing later than that.

Of course, all the media files were still there, so I was able to rebuild the library, using the "add files" and "add folders" functions. As far as I've looked I think it's OK.

But how could somebody who is not rather computer literate deal with this stupid situation? Blame it on a virus, I suppose.

Good forum, just too much to look at every day.

I can't imagine what could have happened. It didn't happen to me. I assume you are using iTunes 11, yes?
