I own an iPad 2. I loaded a few hundred songs onto it from my laptop and wanted to load more from my iTunes library but my laptop unfortunately stolen. So now I have a new laptop with a completely different iTunes library and I wanted to add the new library to my iPad only if I try to sync it, a message pops up saying "would I like to delete the existing library and replace it". Then I thought the iCloud would backup all my information from my iPad but it only back ups apps and their data. So is there any way I can save the existing iTunes library on my iPad 2 AND be able to add music to it from a new iTunes library or do I just have to start all over? :(

When your iPad is connected to iTunes, right click on the iPad under the devices list and choose Transfer Purchases. This will transfer your iPad's iTunes music, apps, etc to the computer library; after which you should be able to sync without losing anything.

This only added the songs I've purchased from iTunes on my iPad to be added to my new laptop's library. The other songs that were not purchased directly through iTunes and instead just loaded onto my iPad were however not saved. So I need a way to sync music from a new iTunes library on my laptop without deleting the existing iTunes library on my iPad. I know you can only have one iTunes library for the device but again, that was on my previous laptop which was stolen. So I had to start from scratch.

The only way to I know of to get non iTunes music back off the iPad are third party apps (on the computer).

I know there are several threads on the subject, but I don't have any handy. A Google search will probably turn a few up.

A good third party app to transfer your music, videos, apps and other data from your iPad to your new iTunes library is TouchCopy. Google it..
