Hello Folks,
I'm a retired person living with my wife and our two Standard Poodles in the Georgian Bay Triangle region of Ontario, Canada. I recently acquired an iPad 2 WiFi 32GB, my latest Apple product since my Apple 128K in 1984. Loved them all. My intention is to soon give my children or grandchildren the iMac 3.06 24" and my HP Touchsmart. This will leave me with my iPad 2 - sufficient for all my computing needs. And of course I'll keep my NAS and DropBox (which are easily accessed using version 2 of Files Connect) as well as the Apple TV (2nd gen). In my retirement I usually spend 35 hours monthly (face-to-face and online) as a computer coach for folks (mostly retirees - zoomers - boomers) with Mac, PC, Linux, peripherals, smart phones and tablets. I am eager to learn from all of you so I can thoroughly enjoy my iPad and of course better assist my fellow retirees!

Cheers!

Hello and welcome to the forum! :)

You appear to already have a LOT of Apple (and computer) experience; I just retired and would like to become involved in the community instructing others about computers - plenty of options in my town (Piedmont, North Carolina).

Wife & I visit Canada about every other summer, usually the eastern Provinces - in fact, we are planning a trip to Toronto in mid-summer; probably will rent a car and do some regional trips, possibly one to your area and/or to the southern part of the Province to visit some wineries - love the Inniskillin dessert wines?

Girdaman,

Thanks for your response to my "newbie message".

A few of my now-graduated university students took jobs in Raleigh and Durham. Lovely region as reported by those folks. Also a very tech savvy area. Hope you have success parlaying your knowledge and experience into a post-retirement pursuit.

Inniskillin is in Niagara, a noted wine growing region in Canada. Wineries abound there, as well as two higher education programs preparing tomorrow's Wine industry professionals.

Let me know if you make it up to the Georgian Bay Triangle.

Cheers
