Music Playlists IOS5

I want to delete the stock playlists, I.e. glam, rock etc and have worked out that they can be deleted the same way as deleting an app. However they keep reappearing. I don't have these playlist on iTunes so why do they keep coming back, presumably after auto syncing during the night. Not a massive problem but irritating.
