MobileMe and creating new albums questions

I am trying out MobileMe and have my contacts and calendars on my iphone and ipad synced (nice feature by the way), and have also loaded iDisk and igallery... I am trying to figure out the best way to move photos I have taken with my iphone to my iPad, without syncing... I have published photos to my my gallery and they are viewable on the iPad but is there anyway to download them to the iPad? As an aside, how do you create new photo albums in the iPad? I have emailed images and the all go into the saved images album... Can it be that everytime I want to create a new album I have to sync my iPad? That would be a deficency, in my humble opinion...
