I have read a lot of reviews over the last month or two of the iPad and it seems the reviews from major websites, newspaper sites, etc have been lauding it, but in the comments section of those reviews, the attitude towards the iPad has been very mixed. Some Apple fans will of course laud anything from Apple, but it seems the neutrals, on the whole, have not been very impressed and dismiss the iPad as a larger iPod touch.
