Locked iPad limitations

This is a great forum, nice to be here

My question: I want to buy an iPad from UK locked to Orange, and i dont want to use 3G, i want this for general use and also for development of iPad applications. Does the simlock to orange prevent me from working normally on everything the iPad can offer except 3G ofcourse? (tried search but no luck there)

But to purchase an iPad from Orange you have to have a monthly contract with them and that includes data usage. So why would you not want to use 3G since you're paying for it in the monthly contract?

Everything else will work OK...but, if you've not bought it yet, have a look at some threads on the Forum from Members who have bought iPads locked to Orange from eBay.
