Java opens then closes

When opening a page that requires java, the page will flash open then go blank. Anyone know how to fix this? I do have java enabled in settings.

You have JavaScript enabled not Java. Java requires the installation of software which the iPad doesn't support. JavaScript is built into the web browser and is a subset of Java.
