Can you guys tell me is jail breaking and unlocking the same?

You'll see that it's not illegal.Jailbreak is a different thing to unlock Jailbreak is something you can do that shows the holes within apples software to allow you to download paid apps for free from another platform - which is totally illegal and voids any warranty or apple support. THIS is not recommended!

Jailbreaking is categorized as a hack of the device which is obviously not supported, and has some serious repercussions. There are some aspects of jailbreaking that are illegal -- such as those "free" pirated apps, or unlocking an iPhone without carrier authorization. In respect of the content and availability jailbreak does coincide with illegal pirated apps doesn't it not.?
