I have two gmail email accounts, I do not want to sync both with my mail app,
I want to log out of one and log into the other.
Today I wanted to print an email Page, when I printed I got the sidebar as well, I then realise I can side swipe to
Get rid of the sidebar, but I am in the wrong email account and cannot log out

So I tried gmail on the webpage, I can log in and out, BUT I cannot remove the sidebar

Any solutions greatly appreciated. Or do I just use my PC!!!

Ok, first lets make sure I understand what you are trying to do.

1) For reasons of security (being able to log out) you are using the GMail app, or the GMail website.

2) You've been using some kind of screen capture to print emails, or Safari's built in print option, otherwise I don't see how the sidebar would get captured. I've just tried printing from the GMail app (and GMail in Safari), and all I can say is that it does not seem to support AirPrint directly. You end up sending the page back to Google, by one method or other, then printing from the Chrome browser or Google Drive. I can see why you might be using a screen capture.

Anyway, I'm not really sure I understand what you are doing, which is why I'm making outloud guesses, so you can correct me if my solution is unworkable in your case.

I have an indirect method you might find useful; though it too involves a third app. In this case PDF Converter by Readdle.

Tap and hold on some text in the body of the email to select it, then drag the selection handles (blue dots) to include the portion of the email you want. Copy. Open PDF Converter and choose the clipboard. You'll see a preview of the email as it will (most of the time) look when it's converted to a PDF. Convert it, then select from the list of documents and share or print as you see fit.

I tried this both in Safari and in the app. Both did a pretty good job of converting the email. It still looked like an email when done, at any rate.

The nice thing about this solutions is that it works in just about any app that you can select and copy all or portions of the document/view.

Hi apologies, if it was not clear, here goes

I have two gmail addressees say 1 & 2, I do not want to have the mail for both addressees viewed by the mail app, as (2) is for al the silly things where you have to give a mail address & (1) is used for normal mails. The mail I want to print from is (2), but I am logged into (1)

In the app I cannot log in and out of a mail address

Therefore I opted to use the web browser using safari and google gmail, now this one I can log into different account, BUT I cannot get rid of the sidebar, so when I print a mail and the sidebar is there it effectively does a print screen.

Hope this helps

Ok. The PDF Converter option I mentioned would work.

Or you can use the GMail print option (not Safari's). It's the double-down-arrow icon to the left of the gear icon. This gives you a choice of printing to Google Drive, Chrome, or some FedEX service.

I can't speak about the FedEx thing, but both Google Drive and Chrome give you sidebar-less documents. Unfortunately you can't AirPrint from those apps either. However, there are any number of other PDF apps out there that can either access Google Drive, or you can use the Open In option to copy from Chrome. Most of those apps support AirPrint.

Besides the PDF Converter app I suggested, I can also recommend PDF Expert and GoodReader. Both can access Google Drive direcly, as well as other popular cloud services like DropBox and Box.com.

GoodReader has the more robust file manger and access to more cloud services. I like PDF Expert's annotation tools better, and it has options for combining and re-arranging PDF pages. I keep both. Despite the overlap, each of them can do things the other can't, and both come in handy more often than you might think.

None of these are one-step solutions; but that's not all bad. If you have several emails you want printed, you could easily keep saving them off and then print them in a batch. Besides, this way you end up with a PDF file, in case you want to do something other than just print it.
