IPad2 wifi not upgrading to ios5.1.1

Dear all please help!
I own an iPad 2 wifi with ios 5.0.1. I was waiting for jailbreak of new versions and on ios 5.1.1 now when JB is successful i am not even unable to either Restore or update to the new ios. Every time i try to do so i got an error message. I even tried to install using the ipsw but no luck

Guys i am tensed p,ease help

Just do the upgrade thorugh your Itunes. Use a USB cable to connect iPad to computer and it should take you to where you want to be. I had the same problem trying to download directly from the ipad in the settings.

While trying to upgrade from 5.0.1 i get the error that unable to update whether i do it from my ipad or itunes

Same unable to update both from itunes or settings from device... It just simply do not download the whole package. My internet is working fine so there is no chance that the file download process is getting interrupted or anything like that.

Even the restore isn't functional

This may suck to hear but try going to stock form and then upgrade. I had to that on the previous update

What do u mean? If u mean Restore from itunes, its not working because even for restore it needs to download the latest ios

Did you go back to factory settings and try updating through iTunes?

You have an iPad2 that is jail broken on iOS 5.0.1 and you want to upgrade to iOS 5.1.1 and then re-jail break it with Absinthe 2.0. Right?

If that is it, then "all" you need to do it restore that iPad to iOS 5.1.1 using iTunes. Use the steps in this tutorial exactly to get you to a stock iOS 5.1.1: http://www.ipadforums.net/showthread.php?t=52863. Once you follow the tutorial, you'll then has a stock iPad2 on 5.1.1 and then you can run Absinthe.

Your problems occurred because (1) you cannot do the over-the-air update (OTA) on a jail broken iPad and (2) you need to be in DFU mode to use iTunes to upgrade the iOS. That's why you kept getting the errors on the iPad and in iTunes.

So, follow the tutorial and then you'll set your iPad up on iOS 5.1.1 to do the jail break.

It seems that u got to the solution. I was so busy today tomorrow i will go by your rules and let u know

Done...
What i did?

I turned off my ipad
Pressed the home button and connected the usb cable with itunes running on PC
keeping the Home button pressed i waited till the "connect to itunes" appeared on the ipad screen then left it.
The device is now in Restore mode
Then i clicked on restore button and waited for the restore and update to ios5.1.1 has finished
And this time it was a success....
