Ipad to Camera Adapter

i have tried using a female to female USB adapter to connect my iPad lightning cable to my Sony Cybershot DSC W350 camera usb cable to get the connection between iPad and camera but without success, I can't get any imAges from camera to iPad?

Is this method not compatible, will I need to purchase a proprietary cable kit?, to get appropriate connection?

Ps. I have also tried replacing the camera cable with a usb cable to a card reader with camera SDHD card inserted, but again without success?

To connect your camera to the iPad, you need the lightning to USB camera adapter, or, if you want to insert the SDHD card, the Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader.

They are both available in the Apple Store. Here are pictures:

They both can transfer your photos from the camera to the iPad. It won't work with another method.

Johanna has already provided you several solutions which would involve using the appropriate lightning connection kit. My first suggestion is to forget about connecting your camera to the iPad - does not always work and uses up the camera's battery.

Instead, remove your 'SD' card from the camera and transfer your images either using the correct CCK that will accept the camera's card or one of a number of 'wireless' options; of course, there are SD cards now that have their own built-in wireless capabilities (need to get one of those!).

As to wireless choices, I own the AirStash Adapter shown below (check on Amazon for plenty of reviews) - it establishes its own Wi-Fi network and requires a free app on the iPad - the device accepts your SD card and can transfer images OTA in either direction. Dave
