Hello and question about camera connection

Hi from Brisbane, Australia. Have had a play with an iPad over the weekend and now have one on order (16GGB WiFi + 3G) , arriving 28th July. Can't wait! Will be a welcome addition to the 3 iPhones, iPod Touch and iPod nano in our house.

Has anyone tried connecting a camera to the iPad as follows

• 30 pin/USB (male) cable - 30pin to Ipad, USB free end
• mini USB/USB (male) cable - mini USB to camera, USB free end
• join both USB (male) ends with a USB joiner (female/female)

Does it work? If it does, saves buying the Camera Connection Kit.

I was going going to buy the camera kit but now I got the iPhone I send pictures from my iPhone to the iPad.

And also there is a app called Camera for iPad.

Thanks for the reply. What i was looking for was to download photos from a Panasonic camera. I am aware of the camera A + B apps for iPad.
