ipad text to cellphones?

Wouldn't it be cool if you could just send a text with your 3G iPad straight to a phone? I guess you'd have to get texts back too. iPhan anyone?

I use GV Mobile + and can send and receive text messages. I'm on 3G at the moment and it works fine. I can send and receive. It's free on my iPad (well, obviously, I'm paying for the 3G access...but you know what I mean!).

I have a Google account, if that makes any difference.
