Hi everyone..
I have been an IPad user since the 1st issue and now have iPad4 64 and my wife has iPad 4 32.
Up to now we felt fairly competent with features, however ios7 has me at loss particularly with photos.
Can't set background correct size. Can't slideshow all photos (as previous) only slideshow each album
Am I missing something?
I am sure you can help a newbie to this forum
Thanks

It does look like Apple gave with one hand and took away with the other in the case of Photos. Navigation in the main Photos (All Photos) section takes some getting used to, with the top left button showing more and more photos grouped in bigger groups, it takes a little experimenting to discover that you can go the other way by tapping on the photos in the group you want to see, or the title of the group if you want to see them by location.

The slide show appears to be limited to albums or shared photo streams. Definitely a loss. {I've pretty much eliminated iTunes synced albums on my iOS devices in favor of the new shared photo streams.}

What we gained was better/more editing options (including filters), and better shared photo stream management. The new grouping of the main photos tab is also pretty useful, once you get used to it.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'setting background correct size'. If you'd offer a more detailed explanation I'll take a look and see what I can figure out.

Many people who have been dissatisfied with the power and feature of the Photos app (from the beginning) choose to use third party photo apps. There are a huge number of these, and they cover pretty much anything you can think of to do with your photos. Photo Manager Pro is commonly recommended for those that just want a bit more control over how their photos are organized and displayed.

Me, I just use the Photos app, but I don't really need anything except a way to quickly move photos between apps, and to force people to look at pictures of my niece when I can corner them. ;)

Thanks again for your response. I ought to have said that it is "Wallpaper" that I cannot resize, and each photo assigned is oversize. Although it says move and scale it will not lock size. I see many others have this issue though. The annoyance of not being able to slideshow ALL photos is that I have over 8000 in many albums and I like to set the iPad as a photo viewer playing my music in background, and each album is OK but does not give the range of photos. Hopefully Apple "might" address this as it worked well in the previous IOS?

Well, I can't help with the slideshow issue, and I can't really help with the wallpaper. But I can explain what's going on with the wallpapers.

The new parallax feature (where the wallpaper seems to move under the icons) requires a bit of the boarder to be hidden, so you don't get blank screen on the edges when it moves. Because of this the wallpapers are slightly zoomed. You can not shrink the wallpaper to the original size. It will just bounce back to the new minimum zoom required. You can still zoom, to isolate a particular part of the image you want, and drag the wallpaper around a bit. If you go too far you lose a lot of resolution, of course.

On the iPad 3 and older iPads this process can lag. It looks like there is some conversion process that takes place to make a wallpaper ready for parallax, and the wallpaper preview recomputes this every time you move or zoom the image. What works best is to wait after each gesture or button tap until the wallpaper is visible and the parallax effect is live, then try the next thing.

Expect to see some new iOS 7 optimized wallpapers showing up online and in apps.

In the mean time, you'll just have to keep playing with new wallpapers (or the old one) until you find something you can live with.
