Hi, welcome to iPF!

If apps are crashing, the reason mostly is because there are too many apps running in the background. To close them, this should be done (depends on your software, so there are two possibilities to do this):
iOS 6: press Home button twice/four finger swipe upwards to reveal the multitask bar. Then tap and hold one of the app icons there until they start to wiggle. Delete them.
iOS 7: same procedure to reveal multitask bar. Then swipe thumbnails (pictures) above the app icons towards the top of the screen.

To prevent Safari from crashing, clear history, cookies and data in Settings - Safari.

Also: restart your device: turn it off, wait for a few minutes and turn it on again.
Hope that helps.

Louise--please refer to the the recommendations that JA has provided.

It would also help to know what version your iPad is and what iOS you are running.

Also-I just deleted your other post as it was a duplicate of this one. Please do not do this since it makes it hard for other members to read and help you of there are multiple threads of the same topic present. It is also against forum rules.
