I think the is a gap between the front glass and the LCD. This may be leading to that feeling of "cheap". It is not cheap at all.

I agree-- that the glass didn't feel cheap either. I had a chance to play with one yesterday and it was really nice. I also thought that the screen picture was more crisp and clear than my iPad 2.
