So sorry that you are having frustration with the cloud service. I have not used the cloud based on my current needs at this time, but have read that others like yourself have had some issues. Part of my dilemma was that I did not entirely understand the concept of Apple's icloud when compared to other cloud services such as google email, google music, or outlook.

What helped me was going to the Forum: icloud within this site. Click the "Forum" tab and scroll, until you see the section called "IPAD HELP." From there, you can find the icloud subsection. It helped me understand some of the exact questions you had regarding the photos, calendar sync, and password. After further reading-I chose not to use as stated before. I know that I am not directly helping you solve your dilemma, but maybe while waiting for other members to help-you might find some of your answers from other people's threads.

Good luck.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

Regarding your questions, are you going to Notifications in the settings and going to the particular app you want to turn on or off. To turn off photo stream you need to go to icloud on your PC/Mac. You should see your app icons Mail, Contacts etc, click on your name on the top right and you'll get an Account window, click Advanced then click Reset Photo Stream. This will clear the entire photo stream.
