iPad data plan

Hi,

I have 2G data plan mini sim card. Using this card the internet just works fine on this phone.

I wanted to use the same sim card for iPad so I made it micro sim card by cutting the edges etc etc.

I inserted the card to the slot in my iPad I got the carrier name on the top with the coverage signal.

I entered the APN settings everything all set. Resarted the iPad.

When I open safari for browsing it keep saying there is no internet. Please check the settings.

What could be wrong here??? Does the iPAD need 3G micro SIM CARD? Can't it work on 2G SIM CARDS too?
