Honestly I've never felt mine getting that warm ever. Gaming, browsing, working on a document, doesn't seem to matter. Is yours getting hot to the touch or quite warm?

My ipad air gets a little warm after extended use, watching episodes/movies via air video, only at the bottom part though

Any iPad will get warm if you use it in a way that drives the CPU/GPU and the screen. The device only has passive cooling, so heat must travel through the case and if you are holding it, you will feel this. Any tablets do this and in fact all computers for that matter. You will notice it less if you put your device in a case.
