Hi guys, my iPad 3's screen is locked in portrait and it won't change to landscape. I have tried the following - checking the mute button is set as screen lock. I have also pressed the screen lock/unlock button in the control panel too. None of these things have made any difference. I have done a reset but still no change!! Can anyone advise what I can do to get this fixed??? Your help would be greatly appreciated! Mark
I'm a little bit confused. If you choose the side switch to lock the screen rotation, the icon won't appear in Control Center. It will only be there, if you set the side switch to mute your device.
Did you also change the setting in Settings - General - Use Side Switch to, and then change back again?
Next possibility: some apps don't allow screen rotation. Try force closing them. (Double tap Home button, swipe thumbnails towards the top of the screen, in iOS 7).
Also restart your iPad (turn off and on again).
There's a different kind of reset: in Settings - General - Reset - Reset All Settings. You'll have to choose your prefered settings afterwards. Maybe this will fix your issue.
