IOS5 Safari Mobile pop up won't download zipped mp3 file

Hi, I have been sent a link to a zipped mp3 file via we transfer ( a file transfer website) and want to download the mp3 to play onto my ipad. pop up stated safari IOS5 cannot download the file,
am new to this ipad, can I actually download and play mp3's which are not from itunes ok?
Any help appreciated,

Safari on iOS can't download files however you can use other apps, such as Downloader HD to do this but you will need to check if it can unzip a zip file.

ok, so I need a downloader, but can i actually play an mp3 once downloaded? or does it need to be an mp4?

It depends on the app you use......here is an app that will play mp3's

You need to decide what you want to do then search the App Store for the relevant terms, mp3+zip.
