I have just upgraded my iPad 2 to iOS 6 and location services no longer works. Location Services is turned on, and all apps I'm trying are enabled (google world, Apple maps, OpenTable, etc.). I am currently in Antigua, but this was all working immediately before the upgrade. By the way, Apple maps suck for Antigua. Got a feeling you better be in the USA.

By the way, also just upgraded iPhone 4S, location services works fine.
Any ideas much appreciated.

If you have not done so, try restarting and/or reseting the iPad. That is all I can think of at the moment.

--------------------

Restart: Hold down the power button until the power off slider appears. Slide it off. When the iPad finishes shutting down, hold down the power button again until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends you restart the iPad at least once a month.

and then a reset if that does not work.

Reset: Hold down the power and home buttons until the Apple logo appears. The iPad will reboot. This usually takes a bit longer than a restart. takes a bit longer than a restart.

Ok.

A little more drastic, but not destructive.

Try going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings. This will not delete apps, data, or accounts, but it will mean you'll have to go through most of your other settings and re-tweak them to your preferences.

Once it is done, you will go through a setup procedure similar to what you do when initializing the iPad, or like what you saw after the iOS 6 update. One of those should be the option to turn on Location services, which is why I think the might help; despite the inconvenience.

Do this with a good internet connection. I seem to remember it need it to check in with Apple (maybe), and set the time, etc.
