MacRumors reports today that iOS 4.3 has just gone gold, i.e. been finalised, which means that it will most likely be released to the public within the next week or so, possibly even at next week’s March 2 media event to launch the iPad 2. The various betas of the latest version of iOS that have appeared over the past few weeks have revealed that iOS 4.3 will be adding, among other things, the facility to use your device as a personal Wi-Fi hotspot, ushered in by the new Verizon iPhone 4, which already has it built in, as well as enhanced support for AirPlay video streaming and a software fix that gives you the option to change what used to be the physical orientation lock on the iPad’s right hand side, but was rather unpopularly changed to a mute switch in the last update, back to its original function.
