iniial problems of a new owner of an ipad

Hi fellow members I was looking for a site where I can clear my doubts
so here I am

I have recently been gifted an ipad by my daughter. The I pad presently is registered in my son in laws name . I will like to know how to open a new account in my name when I go back to India.
further all the apps which are downloaded in the I pad will they be functional or I will have to re download these again.
I look forward to sound advise for optimum use of ipad.

All the apps will be perfectly functional though, if you open a new account, you won't receive any updates. But you could switch back to your son-in-law's account occasionally and update the apps - because updates are always free!!

In answer to your question, re-naming the ipad is easy. Connect to itunes on your PC or Mac, connect your ipad, and when it appears (with your son's name) click on that icon. The box will go white and allow you to enter the name you want for the device.

As to the apps. Others here know more than I do about the legals, but my gut feeling is....No. I hope I'm wrong, but you may have to buy them again. The original user can install them again, (your son) But I stand corrected. Anyway, enjoy your new ipad, and feel free to post as many questions as you like here, plenty of freindly, happy people to help
