Hi Johanna - sad pics of the dried up lake - heat and lack of rain in Europe - not sure how many countries have been affected similarly there? Same in the USA, especially in the west, e.g. droughts and fires in California and environs. Another story of course is the water level in Lake Mead and drop in electricity production from Hoover dam - first pic below shows the previous water level by the change in the rock color along the banks, and second image the fall in power output since 2000 or so (Wiki).

Susan and I have taken several tour boat rides on Lake Mead pre-2000 - the first time the water level was high and the color change not seen (we went between the water intake towers); the second time the rock line was evident and we could not come as near to the dam - just another sad happening. Dave :(

Any Marx Brothers fans? From the left-Harpo, Zeppo, Chico, Groucho and Gummo (Source) - popped up on FB this morning - their last pic together, c. 1960 (Chico died in 1961) - brief beginning bio quoted below the photo for those not aware of these bygone comedians - as a boy I grew up watching most of their films. Dave :)

The Marx Brothers were an American family comedy act that was successful in vaudeville, on Broadway, and in motion pictures from 1905 to 1949. Five of the Marx Brothers' thirteen feature films were selected by the American Film Institute(AFI) as among the top 100 comedy films, with two of them, Duck Soup (1933) and A Night at the Opera (1935), in the top fifteen. They are widely considered by critics, scholars and fans to be among the greatest and most influential comedians of the 20th century. The brothers were included in AFI's 100 Years... 100 Stars list of the 25 greatest male stars of Classical Hollywood cinema, the only performers to be included collectively. (Source)
