Very enjoyable selection of photos Diane. I love the one of the Alsation, with the slighly raised paw, and the pup who seems to be saying "I didn't mean to do it dad, don't cuff me over the ears".

That's a hunting falcon, what you see on its legs are jessies, used by the falconer to control the bird.

Some of the words can't be translated exactly. What I found as translation was lookout tower, or watch tower.
